Messages from Dr Takashi Sakakibara ; president & director
The Sakakibara Heart Institute of Okayama is one of the
most prestigious cardiovascular institutes in Japan, and
was established in 1932 by Dr Toru Sakakibara. He
successfully performed a life-saving operation for stab
wound of the heart with the use of gauze-wrapping
technique for the first time in this country on December
16, 1936.
In September 2012, Sakakibara Cardiovascular Hospital
was newly relocated and opened to offer highly qualified
and advanced medical services far beyond 21st century’s
medical levels. We believe that our main mission is to
keep fulfilling important roles as a top-class hospital in
the field of cardiovascular disorders in Japan.
